MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man was found guilty of the deaths of an East Memphis couple in 2020 while in court on Monday morning. Jaja Mani was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. ORIGINAL STORY: Two arrested in fatal East Memphis shooting after p olice say they offered bribe to victims Jaja Mani (SCSO) It started when officers said Mani was assisting in trying to intimidate a couple from testifying in a shooting case where their son was shot in the head in June 2020. Keven Gomez was charged with attempted second-degree murder for allegedly shooting the son. On November 12, 2020, the two parents were found dead next to their Ford Explorer on Patterson Street. Their son was found critically injured in the back seat. The couple was identified as Emmanuel and Nancy MacDonal. Two indicted in connection with killing of couple taking son to court Mani was not determined as the shooter, but prosecutors say evidence and videos proved his criminal involvement that led to their deaths and his guilty verdict. He will receive a life sentence for the murders. Sentencing for Mani's additional charges is scheduled for May 16. “We are pleased that the jury returned guilty verdicts to give justice to Emmanuel Jr. and the justice obtained for the death of his parents,” said Steve Raglan, Assistant District Attorney.
