(File Photo by Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 14)–Pairings have been released for the Heartland Athletic Conference baseball tournament, which runs Tuesday and Wednesday in L incoln.  Thursday has been designated as the rain-out day. Lincoln East is the No. 1 seed of the tournament, followed by Grand Island and Lincoln Southwest is the No. 3 seed.  All three receive opening round byes in the tournament. The top-seed Spartans will play at 2:30pm Tuesday in the quarterfinal round against the winner of Columbus and Lincoln Southeast.  Meanwhile, in the same part of the bracket, Lincoln Northeast is the No. 5 seed and will play No. 4 seed Kearney in the quarterfinal at 2:30pm Tuesday over at Densmore Field. The other part of the bracket has second-seed Grand Island playing in Tuesday’s 3pm quarterfinal against the winner between the noon game featuring Fremont and Norfolk.  Southwest will play the winner between Lincoln North Star and Lincoln High Tuesday afternoon at 2pm over at Densmore. Semifinal action Wednesday will start at noon with the second game to follow 30 minutes later and the championship to be played 30 minutes after that, over at Den Hartog Field.
