INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A night of mystery and suspense is coming to the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site.
The museum is bringing back its popular Candlelight Theatre series for its 21st season with a brand-new show called “Mu
rder Me Thrice.”
It’s a unique experience guiding guests from room to room inside the historic home, watching three short thrillers unfold, each one written by a master of suspense.
“We’ve been doing this for more than two decades now,” said Lindsay Beckley, director of special events and marketing at the Presidential Site. “But this year’s show is something really special. It features plays by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, and Lucille Fletcher.”
The performances are staged inside different rooms of President Harrison’s former residence, transforming the home itself into an immersive theater experience. Guests will enjoy an intermission between scenes, and each ticket helps support the nonprofit work of the presidential site.
Theatre inside the home is a tradition that runs deep. According to Beckley, President Harrison and his wife, Caroline, once hosted live performances in their own parlor, one of which featured a fully assembled covered wagon as part of the set. “Ours aren’t quite that elaborate,” she joked, “but we hope it’s a good homage nevertheless.”
“Murder Me Thrice” runs April 25-26, May 2 – 4, and May 9 -10. Tickets are limited, and organizers say they’re already going fast.
For those looking to make it a private party, the site offers full room buyouts for groups of up to 20 people. “It’s perfect for a birthday celebration or even a corporate outing,” Beckley said.
