BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Two high schools are adding the Future Farmers of America, better known as FFA, program and introducing the agriculture industry to their students. Teighlor Wilke, a West High School teacher, said, "I'm really excited to be able to bring agriculture education and FFA to Centennial. It's been something that I know has been on the community's mind for several years." The other school adding the program is Liberty High School. Liberty High's FFA teacher Maghan Miller says she's excited to bring FFA to Liberty High. "It just felt right. It felt like it was going to be an exciting new adventure," Miller said. "The community is excited, I had some parents and some alumni from way back when the school had a program reach out and they're excited.
