Pacelli Catholic Schools hosted the 11th Annual Shamrockin’ Run at Pacelli, on Saturday. A total of over 100 participants participated to run, walk or volunteer for the event.
“It was fun for Pacelli to put on an event for the whole community to take part in and enjoy”, said Ryan Bickler, Ru
n Committee Chair. “While we had plenty of more serious runners who might use this as a tune up event for the summer running season, it’s also nice to see lots of kids and families participate as well”
The 5K runners ranged from age 5 to 82.
The run used a different route this year, to avoid the extra traffic along 14th St NW. This year’s route went to the east from Pacelli, across Main Street, then along Mill Pond and on the trail out to Queen of Angels Church, and back to Pacelli.
“We had a lot of good feedback about the new route, so we might use it again next year.” said Bickler.
The fastest 5K time for the men’s division was turned in by Dan Miller at 16:55, followed by Chris McManus at 19:02 and Zach Fadness at 19:11. The fastest 5K female time was Liz Frederick at 23:15, followed by Karen Ristau at 24:15 and Ayla Wicklow at 25:58.
“We really want to thank our 30 plus sponsors for their support, which we really appreciate,” added Bickler. “We also want to thank all our volunteers and all the runners/walkers for participating.”
