Texas Longhorns rise to top of D1Baseball.com Top 25

AUSTIN (KXAN) — College baseball has a new No. 1.
Coming off a series victory on the road over Kentucky, the Texas Longhorns moved into the top spot in the latest D1Baseball.com poll released Monday.

Last week's top team, Arkansas, traded spots with th
e Longhorns and slipped to No. 2 after losing a series 2-1 to Georgia. Both of the Razorbacks' losses were by one run, and the second loss was in 12 innings. Texas lost one game to the Wildcats in 15 innings and ran their weekend series record to 9-0.
Six of the top 10 teams in the poll are from the Southeastern Conference. Tennessee sits at No. 4 with Georgia at No. 5, followed by Auburn at No. 8 and Louisiana State at No. 9. Clemson is at No. 3 and Florida State is No. 7, representing the Atlantic Coast Conference and independent Oregon State is No. 6. UCLA of the Big 10 rounds out the top 10.

Alabama (No. 15), Oklahoma (No. 18) and Vanderbilt (No. 19) round out the SEC team in the poll.
Texas (29-5, 13-2 SEC) hosts UTRGV at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday before welcoming No. 8 Auburn to UFCU Disch-Falk Field for a 3-game series beginning Thursday. The Longhorns are 16-3 at home this season.
