Central Ohio home health care owner imprisoned for Medicaid fraud

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A woman who owned and operated three home health care companies in central Ohio will serve over 40 years in prison for Medicaid fraud.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Ohio, a federal jury found 47-year-old Sally Njume-Tatsing guil
ty in September on 13 counts related to Medicaid fraud.
Njume-Tatsing owned and operated three home healthcare businesses named Labelle Home Health. Though she resided in California, Njume-Tatsing was in charge of all Medicaid billing for the nursing agencies in Reynoldsburg, Mt. Vernon and Parma, Ohio.

While billing Medicaid for health aide services to individuals in their homes, Njume-Tatsing inflated the hours of services provided, billed for registered nurses when licensed practical nurses completed the care, and billed for care for patients who were either deceased or ineligible to receive Medicaid.
A federal grand jury indicted Njume-Tatsing in June 2023 and charged her with one count of health care fraud and 12 counts of making false health care statements.
She was sentenced on April 8 to serve 42 years in prison. As part of her sentence, Njume-Tatsing, who formerly lived in Pickerington, is ordered to pay $5.7 million in restitution to Medicaid. ...read more read less
