ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Authorities are working to identify human remains that were discovered over the weekend in a remote part of Rowan County. According to the Rowan County Coroner, a man and his son were hiking on Trent Ridge in the southeastern part of the county when they cam e across what appeared to be skeletal remains. Officials have since confirmed the remains are human. Multiple agencies responded to the scene and began searching the area for additional evidence. An investigation is now underway, and the remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for identification.
