FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The impact of last week’s historic flooding is still being felt in downtown Frankfort, especially at the Franklin County Courthouse.
Officials say the building is still recovering from water damage, and as a result, court operations will stay closed through a
t least Friday. Some remote proceedings are still being held, but for the most part, in-person services are on pause.
In the meantime, the Franklin Circuit Court Clerk’s Office has moved temporarily to the Court of Appeals building on Chamberlin Avenue. That’s where they’ll be taking calls and accepting documents for the time being.
A drop box for court paperwork is also expected to be available outside the temporary location soon to help people file documents more easily.
Officials say more updates will be shared as repairs move forward and reopening plans take shape.
