KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police are investigating an overnight shooting on the city's northeast side. KCPD said officers were called to the area around Independence and Lawndale avenues around 3:30 a.m. Monday for a reported shooting. According to KCPD's investigation, they believe a person may have been driving a vehicle through the area and began firing shots, ultimately shooting the victim. Police said a suspect vehicle and person of interest have not been identified yet and they do not currently have anyone in custody.
