Marcus’ 4 a.m. Monday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Gusts could peak up to 35mph at times today.
Monday:
Warm and windy conditions are expected as we begin the work and school week. A warm front moving through the state will bring a strong push from the south and west, with wind gusts
up to 30 mph at times and mostly cloudy skies.
High temperatures will surge into the upper 60s and lower 70s this afternoon.
Monday night:
Expect mostly cloudy conditions with a few isolated showers during the early evening hours. There is a chance for a few thunderstorms in the eastern half of the state. Storms will be few and far between, but it’s worth mentioning that there is a slim chance for one or two storms to produce very gusty winds and possibly large hail. The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted this area with a marginal risk, or a level one out of five, for severe storms this evening.
Overnight, we’ll remain mostly cloudy with temperatures falling to the mid-40s.
Tuesday:
Breezy conditions will return on Tuesday. A wind shift from the north and west behind a cold front will lower temperatures considerably, with highs only reaching the low to mid-50s in the afternoon.
Wind gusts will range between 30 and 35 mph.
Areas of frost Tuesday night:
Skies will clear Tuesday night, and temperatures may drop low enough for frost in some areas. Blustery winds could limit frost formation, but those with sensitive plants may need to take precautions before bed on Tuesday.
Wednesday:
High pressure will settle in on Wednesday, quickly warming things up for the middle and end of the workweek. Expect mostly sunny skies and highs returning to the upper 50s and lower 60s.
A few isolated showers are possible on Thursday, but conditions will remain mostly quiet with partly to mostly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-60s.
Late week storms:
Showers and storms will return on Friday as a strong push of warm air moves into the region. Highs will climb into the mid- and upper 70s to wrap up the workweek. A few storms on Friday could be strong to severe.
8 day forecast:
A cooldown is expected for the holiday weekend, with scattered showers on Saturday and highs in the low 60s. There’s a slight chance of a few isolated showers on Easter Sunday, but temperatures will be warmer, with highs reaching close to 70°.
