BENSON, N.C. (WNCN) — A Harnett County Sheriff's Office deputy was involved in a vehicle crash just inside Johnston County Sunday night. The incident was reported around 9:35 p.m. as Harnett County deputies were heading into Johnston County. The crash happened in the 7200 block of Benson Har dee Road, about four miles southeast of Angier and 10 miles northwest of Benson. Images from the scene showed an SUV off the road with some damage. Sunday night, there was a large presence of deputies from Johnston and Harnett counties, along with firefighters and other first responders. There was no word about injuries in the crash. The wreck happened just north of Johnston County Road, which is the county line between Harnett and Johnston counties.
