Gov. Braun to welcome top Trump administration health officials Kennedy, Oz for announcement in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Mike Braun will welcome two of the Trump administration’s top health officials to Indianapolis this week.
The governor will host U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz on Tue
sday.
They’ll make an announcement related to Braun’s “Make Indiana Healthy Again” initiative, according to a news release from the governor’s office.
The press event is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Indiana State Library.

Kennedy, a frequent critic of the healthcare system and vaccines, was sworn in as the 26th secretary of Health and Human Services in January. Soon after that, he launched his “Make America Healthy Again” initiative.
The longtime environmental lawyer ran an independent presidential campaign before dropping out of the race. The Department of Health and Human Services is in the midst of an overhaul that includes downsizing the department and reducing the number of regional offices.
The agency’s focus is on “ending America’s epidemic of chronic illness by focusing on safe, wholesome food, clean water, and the elimination of environmental toxins.”
The Senate confirmed Oz as CMS administrator on April 3, putting him in charge of programs like Medicare and Medicaid.
