Discussion:
We’re startting the week off on a warm and breezy note with highs soaring in the low to mid 80s today — 10-15 degrees above average. Winds will pick up th
is afternoon with gusts up to 35 mph possible. A cold front will begin to move in overnight bringing spotty showers to the mountains and foothills, but not much outside of the higher elevations. The combination of strong northwest winds (gusting 30-40+ mph) and low humidity could lead to elevated fire conditions across the Piedmont and parts of the foothills. Behind the front, expect a cooler and drier pattern with lows falling into the 30s and 40s Wednesday morning and highs topping out in the upper 60s. Temps will bounce back into the low 80s by Friday. It will get even warmer this weekend with highs in the mid 80s by Saturday. Rain chances will remain slim into Sunday into Monday of the next week.
