KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Kansas City-based home food service company says it's responding to the recent tariffs put in place by lowering food prices across the board.
Guaranteed Foods Inc. President and CEO Tom Williams said that the company will be lowering retail prices by 5% through May 10. He s
ays its part of a tariff relief package that Guaranteed Foods is providing to its customers.

“There is universal agreement,” said Williams in his release.
“That there will soon be price increases on most every consumer product. In fact, some companies are already raising prices – and not just on food!! Although we’re not a big enough company to cut prices indefinitely, we wanted to give our customers the opportunity to stock up now - with additional savings – and do it without sacrificing quality, service or healthy food. I’m not aware of any other food company lowering all its prices to help consumers."
The 66-year-old food service company provides additive-free products and delivery. The release says that it specializes in all-natural seafood, poultry, fruits and vegetables, among other goods.
That's not all Guaranteed Foods does, though, according to Williams.
“We’ve always allowed our customers to pay for their food supplies, as they use them, in level monthly installments with no finance or credit card charges. With this extra discount, hopefully, customers will be able to ride out retail food-price hikes in the next six months and use those savings to help cover all the other price increases," he said.
