DARIEN, Ga. (WSAV) -- Hundreds came out to Darien the afternoon of Sunday, April 13 to cap off the three-day event with the parade of boats and the Blessing of the Fleet.
the festival also featured live music, food and drinks, arts and crafts and a boat parade, all while enjoying beautiful sig
hts of the waterfront and costal marshes.
In its 57th year, the event is a large drawer for the tiny town, honoring and paying respect to the shrimping community. Shrimp boat captains received prayers for a safe and successful season during a worship service.
In addition to the blessing itself, there were vendors on hand selling food items, with shrimp being the favorite.
