NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Visitors to National Parks in New Mexico will be able to get into the parks for free later on this week. This Saturday will mark the second time of the year the National Parks Service will offer free entrance. Planning to visit these national parks? You may need to mak e a reservation to get in While the first instance was Martin Luther King Jr. Day, this one will kick off National Park Week. All 400 parks within the National Parks Service will have free entrance on Saturday. Sites in New Mexico that will have waived entrance fees include White Sands and Carlsbad Caverns National Park, and Bandelier National Monument, among others. NPS will have four more days throughout the year when entrance into parks within the department's oversight will be free.
