ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico held a car show Sunday, looking to raise funds for their annual flight to the nation's capital. The club, which is a nonprofit dedicated to veterans of northern New Mexico, held the 9th Annual Honor Flight Car Show in the parking lot at Veterans Memorial Park. Veterans Memorial reopens following bird ‘invasion’ Organizers say the car show helps this event get off the ground and lets them treat the vets like royalty. "We do these types of events to generate revenue so we can spend for the veterans so they don't have to pay a dime to go to Washington," says Shirley Johnson, board member of Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico.
