LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) -A man has been arrested and charged with rape of a child under the age of 12 in Laurel County. According to a release, around 10:40 p.m. on Friday, 39-year-old Andrew Hedrick was arrested in Georgetown off I-75 after authorities tracked him through the GPS on the tractor-trailer her was driving. Investigators had gotten a warrant for Hedrick’s arrest and were aided by the company Hedrick’s drove for, when they turned on the GPS tracker on his tractor-trailer. According to officials, Hedrick was found near a business of I-75 and was taken into custody safely. The sheriff says that the victim in the case had allegedly been sexually abused for approximately seven years. Hedrick’s is charged with Rape-first degree-of a child under 12, Sodomy-first degree-of a child under 12 and Sexual Abuse-first degree-of a child under 12. He is being held in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
