Cole Ragans joins rare company in Royals win over Guardians

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Cole Ragans (1-0) continued his scorching hot start to the season in the Royals' road win over the Cleveland Guardians.
He went 7.2 innings with four hits, two runs, one earned run, no walks and 10 strikeouts. He left the game with two outs in the eighth inning due to left ham

Ragans is the second player in franchise history to have three straight games with 10+ strikeouts, joining Kevin Appier, who did so in 1996.
The Guardians got on the board first after a Daniel Schneemann inside the park homer turned into two runs after a throwing error from Bobby Witt Jr.
Salvador Perez tied the game in the fourth inning with a two-run homer to center field on a breaking ball over the plate.
The Royals took the lead in the fifth inning after a Maikel Garcia double drove in Freddy Fermin and Kyle Isbel to go up 4-2, helping them secure the final game of the series.
