(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that when an officer was taking a prisoner to the hospital on North Nevada Avenue to get medical clearance, he encountered another man who allegedly had stolen a laptop from the hospital, leading to an arrest on Saturday, April 12. According to CSPD, as the officer was pulling into the parking lot of the hospital, around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, he was waved down by staff who told him that they were chasing a man who had just taken a laptop from the hospital. CSPD reported that the officer ordered the suspect several times to stop, but the suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Michael Marshall, turned and threw the laptop at the officer's head, narrowly missing him. The officer used a taser on Marshall and arrested him.
