Temperatures have struggled to get out of the 50s and 60s this Sunday afternoon, but summer-like temperatures jump into the Carolinas to kick off the workweek. Strong southwesterly winds will push temperatures well into the 80s across the Piedmont and Foothills on Monday while the High Country en
joys highs closer to 70º. The newfound warmth won’t last long as a cold front approaches from the northwest. While it won’t bring much in terms of rain – only a few scattered showers in the High Country – it will usher in much cooler air by Tuesday afternoon as highs drop back into the 50s, 60s, and 70s.
Highs will hover near 70º around the Metro on Wednesday and Thursday before we get hit by the blowtorch again heading into the weekend. The Piedmont and Foothills will rise near 80º on Friday before mid-80s make a return into Saturday and Sunday. We’ll need to watch for a few shower chances by the tail end of next weekend, but opportunities for rain appear few and far between over the next 5-7 days.
