ENCINITAS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The long-awaited venture by skateboarder Tony Hawk and local chef Andrew Bachelier is opening soon in the northern beach community of Leucadia. San Diego chef Andrew Bachelier, behind Campfire and Jeune et Jolie, and pro skateboarder Tony Hawk have collaborated t o launch Chick Hawk this summer, which will offer Nashville hot chicken and drinks, along with 90s surf and skate vibes. New upscale restaurant coming to Solana Beach this spring The venture began in 2020 during the pandemic, and the two have had several pop-ups in North County San Diego since then. Now, the project is in the final stages and Chick Hawk is finally slated to "take flight" in the historic Fulano's building in June 2025. In a social media post on Tuesday, the owners said construction continues on the former Fulano's Mexican Cafe building, and the next steps involve putting up drywall and pouring concrete. Hotel del Coronado to debut Nobu, Veranda this spring Chick Hawk will serve Nashville hot chicken and the website boasts "plenty of unexpected culinary surprises." The eatery's signature sandwich is a Nashville Hot-inspired fried chicken take dubbed "The Birdman." While the official menu options are not available online yet, the Chick Hawk website does have merch you can snag ahead of the new restaurant's grand opening.
