PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The city of Pittsfield will begin conducting street improvement work that will impact parking and travel starting Monday.
The city contractor will be lowering structures and milling roads the week of April 14, from Monday to Friday, as part of the city of Pittsfield's s
treet improvement project. During this week's construction, the following roads will be milled:
Joseph Drive
Backman Avenue
Jason Street (from Friar Drive to West Street)
Orlando Avenue
Ridge Avenue
These streets were included in the Fiscal Year 2025 budget and will be completed by the spring and summer. During this week's work, on-street parking is prohibited between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Drivers are urged to use caution when navigating the area. In addition to the streets receiving improvements this week, the following roads are also expected to be included as part of FY25:
Newell Street
Meadow Lane
Daniels Avenue
Valentine Road (after the water line replacement is complete)
King Street (after the water line replacement is complete)
The city of Pittsfield also announced that the state plans to repave the following streets:
South Street from East/West Housatonic Streets to the Country Club of Pittsfield
First Street from East Street to Tyler Street
North Street from Berkshire Medical Center to the Lanesborough Town Line
Pittsfield Mayor Peter Marchetti plans to share the list for Fiscal Year 2026 once it is finalized.
