MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- An investigation has been launched by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office after a child was "accidentally" shot on Saturday night. SCSO was notified by the Department of Children's Services at about 9:15 p.m. that a five-year-old was in the Methodist Germantown Hospital emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The child was taken to the hospital by family members in a personal vehicle.
