'Crime of the Week': Man evades, attempts to hit El Paso Police with vehicle

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Police and Crime Stoppers of El Paso are asking for your help in identifying a man who allegedly evaded police at least three times and attempted to hit an officer with his vehicle in a series of incidents dating back to last year.

At 12:15 a.m. on Oct. 11, 2024, officers with El Paso Police stopped a silver Nissan 370Z at the intersection of Lee Trevino Drive and Vista del Sol Drive in East El Paso.
According to Crime Stoppers, during the traffic stop, the driver suddenly fled.

At 4:30 p.m. on March 22, an officer stopped the same vehicle for a violation at the 4100 block of Rich Beem Boulevard in far East El Paso, according to Crime Stoppers.
While the officer was conducting the traffic stop, the driver fled again, according to Crime Stoppers.
According to Crime Stoppers, a week later, on March 28, the same suspect was spotted by law enforcement at the 400 block of Tays in South-Central El Paso.
The officers were aware of the prior incidents and attempted to detain the driver, Crime Stoppers said.
According to Crime Stoppers, the driver fled by "driving into the landscape and driving towards one of the officers."
In addition to the color and model of the vehicle, Crime Stoppers said the vehicle has a visible Texas registration sticker and has New Mexico license plates.
