MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A family is without a place to live after a fire broke out in the garage of a Potomac home early Sunday. Pete Piringer with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said crews responded to the garage fire at a single-family home in Piney Meetinghouse Court, near River Road, around 4:30 a.m. A smoke alarm alerted the residents to the fire, and they safely escaped. The car was damaged by the fire but was otherwise not involved, Piringer added.
