Mini Golf on the Town: Downtown Appleton transforms into a PuttPutt Paradise
Apr 12, 2025
APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - Downtown Appleton turned into its own mini golf course on Saturday with Mini Golf on the Town, inviting locals and visitors to experience a unique twist on the classic game.
With participating restaurants and bars lining the streets, players enjoyed a fun-filled day of go
lfing, dining, and socializing.
"We have a lot of people that come throughout the day," said Alyssa Triano, a bartender at D2 Sports Pub. "We have a little bit higher capacity here than most of the bars down here, so we do the afterparty, and everybody comes here at the end. They all get some food, and then we give out some prizes. They even do a costume contest for those who choose to participate."
Among the enthusiastic participants was Cathe Rozzoni, who, along with her friends from Kenosha, makes it a tradition to plan a girls' trip every year.
"We actually did this for the first time in 2017. It was amazing!" she shared. "We do a yearly bus trip with a bunch of women, and it was one of the best years. We kept saying, 'Let's do the golf thing again.' We have so many memories from over 30 years of doing this trip."
While the golf skills of some may not be up to par, the event offers a fantastic opportunity to explore all that downtown Appleton has to offer.
"The camaraderie with the different businesses is wonderful," Cathe expressed. "We walk into every business, and everybody is so welcoming, no matter where you are. Whether you want to drink or just sit and have fun, you can get to know all the different things Appleton has to offer."
