Rojas bought a scarf and fan from the booth. The headliner exclusive merch has taken off here in recent years, with booths featuring designs representative of the artists. Gaga’s was the same neon yellow as the hoodies, with random point spikes attached to some walls and slogans such as “Mayhem In The Desert,” of walls and merch alike. Post Malone, who headlines Sunday night, built a rusty roadside gas station facsimile from which they sell gear that included such Posty wardrobe essentials as a fringed poncho and distressed sweatpants, both $125. Green Day, who headlined Saturday, had a more minimalist booth but cool T-shirts, including a “Dookie”-themed T-shirt altered to reflect their first-ever Coachella performance, a bargain at $45. Josh and Emmalea Griffith of Nevada City planned on attending the Coachella Valley Music Arts Festival this year regardless of the lineup.
