The Spurs’ road record is officially 13-27. (1-1) in neutral site games. Coming off of a dramatic win versus the Golden State Warriors, the Spurs traveled to Phoenix to take on the Suns. The Spurs ruled out Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson due to
their respective injuries. With a shorthanded squad, the Spurs managed to outscore the Suns in the first quarter, 33-28. But it was all downhill from there. In the second and third quarters combined, the Suns outscored the Spurs 64-31. The Suns ultimately won 117-98.
Julian Champagnie led the way with 23 points, five rebounds, and two assists. He was on fire from three, as he drained six throughout the contest. Although he can be streaky, Julian has also been a sneaky scorer throughout the season.
Sniper! Julian’s third three was from the left wing in the first!

ANOTHER ONE. Julian’s scorching shooting quarter included this three from the opposite wing!

Sandro Mamukelashvili dropped 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Just like Juju, Mamu got buckets. He has been a great teammate and competitor through good times and rough times. Everyone could use a Mamu in their life.
MAMU BUZZER BEATER! Mamu nails the turnaround jumper to beat the third quarter buzzer!

Stephon Castle dropped a double-double: 16 points and 10 assists. He also dropped four rebounds and a steal. It’s been said already, but Steph’s playmaking has significantly improved since game number one. Besides locking up ROTY, Steph has shown that he’s ready to take the next step as one of the team’s best players for next season.
The vision! Steph gets double-teamed in the paint and bounces the pass backward to Bismack Biyombo who finishes the play with a baby hook!

Blake Wesley dropped seven points, four assists, and three rebounds. From getting little to no playing time, Blake has stepped in off the bench since De’Aaron Fox was ruled out for the season, and he’s been a spark plug. He continuously brings the energy on defense, the hustle, and the trickery he’s learned from CP3.
Too fast! Off the missed shot, Mamu finds a leaking Blake who breaks away for a two-handed flush!

Even though it was not the result the team wanted, the Spurs still showed hustle from their young players. For guys like Malaki Branham (15 pts), David Duke Jr. (8 pts), and Harrison Ingram (2 pts), this was a game to show off their skills. Expect the Spurs to leave it all on the floor in the last game of the season tomorrow.
Finally, here are the full game highlights.
