RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police (VSP) recently unveiled the "Thank a Trooper" program, allowing Virginians to compliment troopers with the click of a button. If someone wishes to give special thanks to a state police trooper, they can visit the VSP website and click the yellow "Thank a Trooper" button in the top right corner. People can then leave a message detailing who they would like to thank and why. The program does require that you provide your name and email address when submitting the message. It is also based on a similar program, "Thank a Trooper," in Kentucky, according to VSP. The compliments that are submitted will be shown to individual troopers and other leaders within VSP, while some will have the potential to be featured on their social media platforms.
