One killed, another seriously injured in Wareham fire

WAREHAM, Mass. (WPRI) -- One person was killed and another was seriously injured after a fire late Friday night in Wareham.

Just before 9 p.m., the Wareham Fire Department was called to Kimberly Court for a report of a fire coming from a home.
When they arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the building.
A second alarm was quickly stuck, bringing in additional personnel and apparatus to help put out the fire.
Firefighters located one adult inside who was seriously injured. That victim was taken by Wareham EMS to be treated for their injuries.
Crews also found a second person inside who was not able to escape. They were pronounced deceased a the scene.
The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire are being investigated by the Wareham Fire Department, Wareham Police Department, State Police fire investigators assigned to the State Fire Marshal's office, and State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office.
