Aboveaverage temperatures, belowaverage rain forecast for the Bay Area

(KRON) — The Bay Area and most of the Western U.S. is forecast for above-average temperatures and below-average precipitation for April 17 to April 21, according to the latest weather outlook from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center.
The Bay Area has
a 50 to 60% chance of above-average temperatures and a 33 to 40% chance of below-average precipitation in the coming weeks, NOAA’s outlook shows. Warmer dryer weather is also in the short-term forecast.

“Max temperatures Sunday through Monday will be 5 to 15 degrees above average, with inland areas seeing upper 70s to low 80s and coastal areas in the 60s low 70s,” the National Weather Service’s San Francisco Bay Area office forecast reads.
Minor heat risks are possible during the warmer forecast. People are advised to drink water and wear light clothes.

“Tuesday through Thursday will remain warm and dry but temperatures will see a gradual down-tick towards low to mid 70s inland as the ridge continues to weaken and an upper level low develops off the coast of California,” the NWS forecast states. “Looking ahead, the trend for drier conditions and warmer temperatures are expected to continue.” ...read more read less
