RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Police detectives have released new photos of a suspect who has reportedly stolen at least six electric bicycles near the university’s medical center this year. 8News reported on two of these incidents in March, with one occurring at 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the 1000 block of E. Broad Street and the other at 4:43 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, in the 1200 block of E. Marshall Street. VCU has reported two more incidents since then, with detectives believing the same suspect is involved in all cases. The most recent incident occurred at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, in the 1000 block of E. Marshall St, when a dark green RAEV e-bike was taken. On Friday, April 11, university detectives shared new photos of the suspect. Those photos are shown below. The fifth known incident occurred at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 21, in the 1000 block of E. Broad Street. The first two incidents, which occurred in January, include: 12:39 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, in the 500 block of N. 12th Street 1:26 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, in the 1000 block of E. Broad Street University detectives said the suspect allegedly cut or removed cable locks securing the e-bikes to the racks.
