Meet this year's 'Strawberry Blossom' for Ponchatoula's Strawberry Fest
Apr 11, 2025
PONCHATOULA, La. (WGNO) — Chris Threeton is the "2025 Strawberry Blossom" for this year's Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival.
"We have multiple varieties of strawberries. All the different varieties are a bit different. They are different sizes, different colors, just depending on the variety of
the berry," Threeton said.
Threeton knows a lot about strawberries.
"After many years, a variety kind of fades out because they don't produce as well, and that's why you will see many new varieties popping up," she said.
With her knowledge and love for strawberries, it is no surprise that she's this year's "Strawberry Blossom."

"I enjoy representing the farming community. My husband is a fourth-generation farmer. He's been Strawberry King before, and so has his dad," she said.
Threeton never knew that years ago, she was planting a seed to later become "Strawberry Blossom."
"In high school, we started dating and I told him I'm not a laborer, but he's made me come work on the farm several times. I swear I never would, but I love it," Threeton said.
Strawberry farming is a huge part of her life for her husband and their daughters.
"Strawberry farming started in 1926 with my husband's great-grandfather, Alonzo Threeton," she said.
This year's Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival takes place on April 11-13.
