RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person was taken to a local hospital, and another was arrested after a shooting at Columbia Mall, said RCSD. The sheriff’s department said around 1:30 p.m. deputies responded to 201 Columbia Mall Blvd. due to reports of a person being shot inside the mal l. When deputies arrived to the scene one victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds and officials began providing life-saving treatment until EMS arrived to the mall. The victim was taken to a hospital. RCSD said deputies cleared the mall without finding any of the shooters still at the scene. Through an investigation it was determined that there were multiple individuals in the store where the shooting took place, including a mother with a small child in a stroller.  Officials said the mother and her child were unharmed.  Video footage that was obtained showed an individual confronted by a group of 3 people when gunfire was exchanged. On Wednesday, April 9, Grant Rawls was arrested and charged with breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a stolen firearm. During Rawls’ arrest, a firearm was found which has been confirmed to have been used during the shooting, according to Richland County deputies.
