NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Saints quarterback Derek Carr could miss the 2025 season.

Rapoport reported on the social media app 'X' that the Black and Gold's signal-caller has
been "dealing with a shoulder injury that threatens his availability for this season." Carr may allegedly need surgery while the third-year Saint weighs his options.
Injuries marred the quarterback's first two years in New Orleans. An oblique injury and a fracture in his non-throwing hand caused Carr to play a career-low 10 games in 2024.
During his first season with the Saints in 2023, the former second-round pick played in all 17 games but battled an A/C joint sprain in his throwing shoulder, multiple concussions, and fractured ribs.
The 2025 season will be the third year of Carr's four-year, $150 million deal with the Saints, and the quarterback's cap hit for the upcoming season will be $69.2 million.
The Saints will enter the 2025 NFL Draft with the ninth overall draft pick.
