'I'm going to open fire on your hospital:' Reports detail threatening emails sent to Supervisor Jeff Flores

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- In the dozens of emails he's accused of sending to a Kern County supervisor, Parrish Buzzard used racial and homophobic slurs and threatened physical violence to the supervisor and other public officials, among them former U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, sheriff's investigator
s say.
"I'm going to open fire on your hospital," says one email sent to Supervisor Jeff Flores according to newly-released sheriff's reports. Further down the in the email is a threat to "bash your f------ brains in."
It's alleged Buzzard sent a total of 112 messages in March to two county email addresses, most of them to Flores' public email address. Some contained images of weapons, including a tomahawk ax.
Flores began taking extra security measures.
"Supervisor Flores said these emails have directly affected the day-to-day operations at his office as well as his personal residence," an investigator wrote.
Buzzard, 61, was arrested March 26 and is being held without bail on charges of stalking, making criminal threats and threatening a public official.
A competency hearing is set for later this month.
At his arraignment, Buzzard swore and ignored commands to remain silent. Deputies removed him from the courtroom.
17 News' Jenny Huh later interviewed him in jail. He was incoherent for much of the interview, but claimed he's the one being threatened.
Buzzard has a prior strike conviction from 2010 for a similar case, and recently was convicted in a misdemeanor threats case. ...read more read less
