1 person confirmed dead after truck crashes into San Diego Bay

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Authorities have confirmed one person has died after a pickup truck drove into the San Diego Bay off Harbor Island Thursday night. The conditions of two others involved in the incident ar

Officers with the Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department responded to reports of a vehicle in the water near the southern edge of Harbor Island around 9:05 p.m.
Witness told police they saw a pickup truck driving south at a high speed and cross through two intersections before crashing into the water.
Oceanside responds to traffic woes near Camp Pendleton
According to an update from Harbor Police Friday, responding officers found one woman had been pulled to shore by good Samaritans. They said she was unconscious but breathing when police arrived.
She was taken to a local hospital by paramedics following the incident, but her condition is unknown at this time.
Then, around 9:18 p.m., the Harbor Police Dive Team, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department and San Diego Lifeguards went into the water to locate the vehicle and search for other potential victims.
Divers found a man and woman trapped inside and brought them above water. Both people were taken to local hospitals.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at 11:14 p.m. The man's condition and extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Harbor Police Traffic Team.
