HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 23-year-old Hanover County man has been charged with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material after a search warrant was carried out on his home by the sheriff's office. On Wednesday, April 9, the Hanover County Sheriff's Office said 23-year-old Caleb Matthew Elkins of the county's Mechanicsville area was arrested for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse material. In January, investigators with the sheriff's office received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force regarding the possible possession of child sexual abuse material by a person who lives in Hanover County. After an investigation, officials said Elkins was identified as the suspect. He was taken into custody and a search warrant was carried out of his home. Elkins was taken to Pamunkey Regional Jail, where he was charged with 15 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and four counts of distribution of sexual abuse material.
