FCC deregulation initiative: Chairman Carr wants to hear from you
Apr 07, 2025
(NATIONAL) — In March, Chairman Brendan Carr of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) launched a massive deregulation initiative, which seeks to get public comment on "every rule, regulation, or guidance document that the FCC should eliminate for the purposes of alleviating unnecessary regul

According to an FCC press release on March 12, the agency opened a new docket, titled "In re: Delete, Delete, Delete," which followed "President Trump’s leadership and the Trump Administration’s decision to usher in prosperity through deregulation."
"Under President Trump’s leadership, the Administration is unleashing a new wave of economic opportunity by ending the regulatory onslaught from Washington," Chairman Carr said.

As the nation's largest local broadcast company, Nexstar believes that modernizing these rules is essential to ensuring that audiences continue to receive the high-quality, local news and content they deserve.
