Man dies in hospital after shooting on Mount Olivet Road in DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Police in D.C. are working to learn what led up to a deadly shooting in Northeast early Saturday morning.
Minutes after 12:30 a.m., on April 5, officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 900 block of Mount Olivet Road to investigate a shooting.

Once on the scene, police located 55-year-old Maurice Tyner suffering from a gunshot wound.
MPD noted that Tyner was conscious and breathing when he was hospitalized.
However, he died from his injuries the next day.
As of Monday, D.C. police have not made any arrests in connection to Tyner's death.
The shooting on Mount Olivet Road was just one of many that took place across the District. Between Saturday night and Sunday morning, more than three separate shootings were reported in the Northeast and Southeast areas.
