Judge orders man accused in 2024 Albuquerque murder to remain in custody

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Monday in court Judge Joseph Montano ruled Rashad Jones, 22, will be held in custody while awaiting trial in relation to a deadly shooting in 2024.

Jones is one of the people accused of shooting up a home near Candelaria and Carlisle. Javon Williams was hit and killed during the shooting. Investigators believe the shooting was part of a feud between rival groups who were retaliating against one another. Using cell phone data, security camera footage and social media posts, police believe the groups are responsible for at least five different shootings over the course of three weeks in June 2024.
