Two arrested in connection with southeast Oklahoma homicide

STIGLER, Okla. (KNWA/KFTA) — Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of an Oklahoma woman, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
OSBI said on April 5, the Haskell County Sheriff's Office asked for assistance with a homicide investigation in Stigler.

ties said around 6 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting call on Cass Road in rural Stigler.
Once on the scene, deputies found Tina Mitchell, 56, who had suffered multiple gunshot and stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to OSBI.

During the investigation, officials identified Billy Mitchell, 49, who reportedly fled the scene, as a suspect. A second suspect, identified as Jack Swanda, 39, was still on the scene when deputies arrived, OSBI said. Swanda sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

HCSO deputies and OSBI agents searched for Mitchell and later found him hiding at a nearby property.
Both were later arrested and taken to the Haskell County Jail.
The next day, OSBI and HCSO searched the property and found a second body, which was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.
