The city plans to revamp the park, which includes replacing concrete pavement, repainting pavers and bluestone, replacing all of the lighting, adding a roof, cleaning surfaces and plaques, switching out the gate and more. The park will also receive new lettering on the wall of the center fountain, according to the city.

With the renovations, the city noted its monuments, art and granite walls will stay at the park. To help fund the changes, the city received $800,500 from the state's One Time Strategic Community Investment Fund, which benefits statewide, regional and local projects throughout Ohio.
The park currently showcases granite walls with the names of those who lost their lives, a reflecting pool, personalized pavers, a monument honoring fallen officers, and a sculpture that was made from the steel of the World Trade Center, according to the city website.
Once renovations are complete, the city will rededicate the park on Sept. 11, 2025. ...read more read less
