It all comes down to the Gators and Cougars tonight If you are unaware, this year’s NCAA Men’s Final Four returned to San Antonio. If you tried to go anywhere near downtown this weekend, then you are acutely aware.
This is the fifth time t
he NCAA men’s champions are crowned in The Alamo City, and the first time since 2018.
Saturday night’s back-to-back games were both barn burners, worthy of the hype surrounding March Madness.
The first matchup saw Florida’s head coach, Todd Golden, face off against his former mentor, Auburn coach, Bruce Pearl. In a slugfest, the Gators came out on top. This is their fourth trip to the Finals, going 2-1 in their previous attempts. They won back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007 under coach Billy Donovan, who was recently announced as an inductee in the 2025 Naismith Hall of Fame enshrinement.
In the second game, the Duke Blue Devils established themselves a fourteen-point second half lead keeping the Houston Cougars at arms length. Although the Cougars chipped away, Duke still had a nine-point lead at the 2:17 mark when Cooper Flagg made a highlight block, his third of the night.
Houston undeterred, spent the remainder of the game going on a 15-3 run ending any hope the Blue Devils had for a trip to tonight’s Championship game.
Check out this winning percentage done in the timing of the shots falling.
Who are you rooting for tonight?
