Deputies: Highspeed chase on I64 ends in arrest of man wanted in multiple jurisdictions

NEW KENT, Va. (WAVY) -- A man was arrested on Saturday after driving recklessly on I-64, deputies said.

According to officials, on Saturday, deputies noticed a vehicle driving recklessly while on I-64. When deputies attempted to
conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, leading deputies on a high-speed chase.
Deputies said the pursuit ended on Route 106, where they then brought 52-year-old Christopher Jackmon into custody.
Jackmon was then charged with felony eluding, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving two abreast, reckless driving speed, reckless driving general and improper passing on shoulder of highway.
Deputies also discovered that Jackmon was wanted out of multiple jurisdictions, including Spotsylvania for two counts of grand theft auto and two counts of grand larceny with intent to sell, Chesterfield for felony eluding, Hampton for two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses and York for felony eluding.
