MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Two people were left injured after two back-to-back overnight shootings in the Hickory Hill and Cherokee area, Memphis Police confirm.
Officers say they responded to the first shooting at an apartment complex in the 6100 block of Eyrie Drive around 1:12 a.m. At least one person
was found suffering from injuries.

They were then taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Memphis' public safety map shows that within a quarter-mile radius of the apartments between July 2019 and July 2024, more than 2,000 crimes were reported. Another 300 police reports have been added to that pile since then, including three homicides, 18 aggravated assaults, and six robberies.
In 2024, 19-year-old Aaliyah Kyles was sexually assaulted and killed in her apartment on Bald Eagle Drive.

Memphis Police say the second shooting call took place at the Fair Bridge Inn on 2880 Lamar Avenue around 1:24 a.m. One person was found with injuries.

They were then taken to the hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made in either shooting incidents. But this is an ongoing investigation.
