ROUGEMONT, N.C. (WNCN) -- A goat named Sheldon, who managed to elude animal control in Granville County for weeks, now needs a new home.
He's currently staying at The Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary in Rougemont, but needs a permanent place to live.
According to Alesja Daehnrich, with The Blind
Spot Animal Sanctuary, the goat was spotted wandering around Granville County. For weeks, he was able to stay one step ahead of everyone trying to catch him.
Eventually, animal control was able to take him in. Daehnrich says an officer asked the Sanctuary to provide the goat with a temporary place to stay.
North Carolina law requires stray farm animals to be put up for auction, but Daehnrich says she'll bid whatever it takes to ensure the sanctuary can place Sheldon in a loving home. The sanctuary will also cover his vet care.
Daehnrich says that Sheldon is a very friendly, sweet goat who needs a home with other pet goats, a fence, a pasture, and housing.
