Weather Forecast: A warmer start to the week ahead
Apr 06, 2025
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — It's been a drier and quieter day here in Rochester, and that's how the rest of our Sunday will remain. Clouds will continue their dominance as nighttime falls. Temperatures are expected to stay on the colder side, falling into the upper 20s for lows. A weak system will mo
ve into the state, but is not expected to make it to Rochester but rather off to our south east and will move towards the center of the state.
We will start the week off with a mixture of sun and clouds before the clouds completely move out of the area. Temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 40s for the day. Clouds will start to move back into the area during the afternoon hours ahead of a cold front. The front is expected to swing through the area around dinnertime, bringing a mixture of rain and snow. Cloud air will move in behind the front, dropping our temperatures into the 20s for overnight lows. Scattered snow showers will begin across WNY, which could result in minor accumulations. Winds will also start to pick up as the front swings through, gusting between 35 and 45 mph.
8-Day Forecast
Scattered snow showers and gusty conditions will likely occur through the day on Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to climb up into the 30s, but with windy conditions, they will likely feel a lot colder. Winds will begin to die down, along with the snow showers, as the day goes on Tuesday. Conditions quiet down as nighttime falls, with temperatures falling into the 20s. Wednesday overall will be a relatively quiet day. Temperatures are expected to climb into the low 40s as clouds remain dominant in our skies.
Unfortunately, Tuesday is not the only wet day of the upcoming week. The good news though - temperatures will be too warm for anything besides rain to fall. Current model guidance suggests our next system reaches the region by Thursday afternoon continues through the end of the week and into next weekend. We leave rain chances low for now. However, we are way too far out to know any specifics about this system, but we will continue to update our forecast accordingly. ...read more read less
